I logged on to Technorati to check out the latest blogs on all things "digitisation" and "libraries". I soon learned to try the American spelling of "digitization". This increased my hits from a lousy 11 to 398!
I soon discovered that not all bloggers gadget their blogs with RSS options, so I was left unable to feed one of my favourites.
Webpage designers and bloggers can nominate the format of an RSS from their site. eg. RSS only to a newsreader or aggregator for personal use only such as "Google RSS directory. Some web creators prohibit the use of RSS of their contecnt to other webpages.
No wonder I had such a weird experience trying to load RSS feeds to this blog!
Embedding an RSS can be as simple as pasting the script into my blog settings. Check the RMIT library feed on this page. This enable the headings of the latest news posting on the RMIT library webpage to display nicely at the bottom of my blogpage.
I gettit now.
